West Michigan Galaxy Futsal
At West Michigan Galaxy, our Futsal Program offers an exciting and fast-paced way for players to elevate their game during the off-season and beyond. Futsal, a small-sided version of soccer played indoors on a hard court, is renowned for developing quick thinking, sharp technical skills, and creativity under pressure.
Why Futsal?
Futsal is more than just a winter alternative—it's a proven tool for player development. The smaller playing surface and fewer players per side mean more touches on the ball, quicker decision-making, and constant involvement in the action. Many of the world's top players credit futsal for helping them master ball control, agility, and tactical awareness.
Who Can Join?
The Futsal Program is open to boys and girls across various age groups. It's a great opportunity for players to stay sharp, build confidence, and develop skills that will benefit them on any soccer field.

Shelly Vargas
Director of Futsal
My journey with soccer began at around age six, and I quickly fell in love with the fast paced energy of futsal while growing up. I spent as much time as possible on the court, eventually playing and honing my skills with clubs like Ole and ABK.
That passion led me to compete at the highest levels, including Futsal Regionals in Ohio and Nationals in Kansas, where I was proud to be part of several championship winning teams.
I have dedicated the last several years to coaching and mentorship. From leading high school teams during my own college career to directing tactical play for recreational leagues, I truly enjoy sharing the technical nuances of the game with the next generation of players. I look forward to bringing that same lifelong love for futsal to all the upcoming Galaxy players and families.
